Web developmentin Stourbridge.Fast, secure, yours.
A Stourbridge web developer for businesses who need more than a page builder can give them: custom builds, rebuilds of fragile sites, integrations with the tools you already use, and performance that passes Google's tests.
If your current website is slow, breaks when a plugin updates, or cannot do the thing your business needs it to do, a custom build from a local developer is usually the fix. We build in modern code (Next.js, React, TypeScript), host on a global CDN, and hand you a site you own outright that loads in under a second on a phone.
When a builder
isn't enough.
Wix, Squarespace and off-the-shelf WordPress themes are fine until they are not. The moment you need a booking flow that fits how you actually work, a customer portal, a quote calculator, a product catalogue with real filtering, or simply a site that loads fast on a Saturday morning when everyone in Stourbridge is searching, the ceiling arrives quickly.
That is where custom development earns its keep. Not because bespoke code is fashionable, but because it does exactly what the business needs, nothing more, and does it fast. We have rebuilt sites for local businesses that went from a fifteen-second load on mobile to under a second, without changing the design.

Rebuilds
Keep the design and the URLs you have earned, replace the fragile build underneath with modern, fast, maintainable code.
- 02 /
Custom features
Booking, quoting, calculators, galleries, portals, member areas. Designed around your process rather than a plugin's assumptions.
- 03 /
Integrations
Booking systems, CRMs, accounting tools, review platforms, payment providers and email marketing wired in properly.
- 04 /
Small web applications
Internal tools and customer-facing apps for businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets, built with the same care as a public site.
How we
build.
Every site we develop is built the same way, because it works: modern React with Next.js, written in TypeScript, deployed on Vercel's global network. Pages are pre-rendered wherever possible so they load from a server near the visitor rather than being assembled on demand. JavaScript is kept to the minimum the page genuinely needs.
Google's Core Web Vitals are treated as pass/fail targets. Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5 seconds, Interaction to Next Paint under 200 milliseconds, Cumulative Layout Shift under 0.1, measured on a mid-range phone on a throttled connection, not on a developer's laptop. Accessibility is built in from the first component: keyboard navigation, focus states, semantic markup, reduced-motion support.
| Concern | Typical page-builder site | What we build |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile load time | 4–15 seconds | Under 1 second first paint, LCP under 2.5s |
| Security | Theme + plugins to patch monthly | No server to patch; static delivery and security headers |
| Ownership | Locked to the platform | Code in a GitHub repository in your name |
| Hosting | Shared hosting or platform fee | Global CDN, automatic HTTPS, scales without intervention |
| Editing | Full page builder, easy to break | Structured content editing for the parts you need to change |
Working with a
local developer.
There are good developers everywhere, and plenty of Stourbridge businesses have had perfectly good work done remotely. What a local developer adds is proximity: someone who can sit in your office, watch how a booking actually gets taken, see the workshop or the shop floor, and build for that rather than for a specification written at a distance.
It also makes accountability simple. We are in the town; you know where to find us. Projects are scoped in writing with a fixed price, timelines are realistic, and you own everything at the end. If you ever want another developer to take over, they can, because the code is standard and documented.

Scope and price in writing
A clear specification, a fixed price and a timeline before any code is written. Changes are agreed, not discovered on the invoice.

You see it early
Staging links from the first week. You use the site as it comes together, on your own phone, and we adjust.
- 03 /
Launch checklist
Redirects, canonical URLs, sitemap, structured data, analytics, Search Console, performance tests. Written down and ticked off.

After launch
Optional support for changes, monitoring and improvements. No lock-in, no retainer you do not need.
Local
questions.
How much does custom web development cost in Stourbridge?
A custom-built business website starts around £3,000 and most land between £4,000 and £10,000 depending on pages, features and content. Rebuilds of an existing design are often at the lower end. Web applications and bespoke features are quoted individually after a scoping conversation.
Can you rebuild my WordPress site without changing how it looks?
Yes. A faithful rebuild keeps the design and URLs, replaces the theme-and-plugins stack with modern code, and usually improves load times several times over. It is often the most cost-effective fix for a slow or fragile site.
Will I be able to edit the site myself?
Yes, for the things you need to change: text, images, opening hours, articles, gallery items. We connect a clean content editor for those parts rather than exposing the whole site to a page builder that can break the layout.
What is Next.js and why do you use it?
Next.js is a framework for building websites in React, the most widely used front-end technology. It lets us pre-render pages for speed, keep JavaScript small, and deploy globally without managing servers. It is used by companies from small shops to some of the largest sites in the world, so there is no risk of it disappearing.
Do you provide hosting and maintenance?
We set up hosting on Vercel in an account you own, and there is very little to maintain because there is no server or plugin stack. Optional support plans cover changes, monitoring and improvements if you want them.
