SEO for Hagley,Pedmoreand Kinver.
Local search work for businesses serving Hagley, Pedmore, Clent, Blakedown and Kinver: a small, high-value market on our doorstep where the county boundaries matter more than anyone expects.
Hagley, Pedmore and Kinver sit within a few miles of each other but fall in three different counties: Worcestershire, the West Midlands and Staffordshire. That affects which directories, council listings and regional sources Google associates you with, and it is one reason a business that ranks well in Stourbridge can be absent in Hagley. The fix is a genuine page for each village you serve, a Business Profile whose service areas cross the boundaries deliberately, and citations chosen for the right county rather than the nearest town.
Three villages,
three counties.
It is the least obvious thing about this patch and the most useful. Hagley is in Worcestershire, in the Bromsgrove district. Pedmore, a mile and a half north, is in the West Midlands, inside the Dudley borough. Kinver is in Staffordshire. A business can stand in one and serve all three, but the administrative geography behind them is entirely different.
That matters for local search in practical ways. County and district directories, council business listings, chamber memberships and regional news sources all split along those lines, and they are exactly the sources that build local prominence. A Stourbridge business that has only ever appeared in West Midlands listings has no Worcestershire footprint at all, which is part of why it can be strong in Wollaston and invisible in Hagley.

Hagley, DY9 — Worcestershire
Bromsgrove district. Worcestershire directories, county listings and the A456 corridor towards Kidderminster and Birmingham.
- 02 /
Pedmore, DY9 — West Midlands
Dudley borough. Shares a postcode district with Hagley and almost nothing else administratively.
- 03 /
Kinver, DY7 — Staffordshire
South Staffordshire district. A separate set of local sources again, and a village that searches as its own market.

Clent and Blakedown
Worcestershire villages that look to Hagley and Stourbridge for trades and services. Small, but the work is worth having.
A small market
worth the trouble.
Nobody builds an SEO campaign for a village on volume. The reason this patch is worth attention is the other way round: search volumes are low, competition is thin, and the customers are among the most valuable in the area. A handful of searches a month that convert at a high average order value beats a thousand that do not.
It also means the work is cheap relative to the return. In a market this size you are not fighting a professional SEO field. You are usually competing against businesses that have never finished their Google Business Profile. Being the one that has done the basics properly is frequently enough.

Start with the profile
Correct category, every service listed, service areas that deliberately name Hagley, Pedmore, Clent, Blakedown and Kinver. Free, and most competitors have not done it.
- 02 /
One genuine page per village
Only where you truly work there and have something specific to say. Three real pages beat thirty thin ones, and thin ones can actively hurt.
- 03 /
Citations in the right county
Worcestershire sources for Hagley and Clent, Staffordshire for Kinver. Consistent name, address and phone across all of them.

Reviews that name the place
A customer who writes 'came out to us in Hagley' is doing work no page can do. Ask at the moment the job is finished.
- 05 /
Speed on a weak signal
Parts of this patch have patchy mobile coverage. A pre-rendered, lightweight page loads where a page-builder site times out.

Content with the A456 in it
Write like someone who knows the roads, the schools and the Clent Hills. It reads as local because it is, and that is increasingly what gets quoted in AI answers.
Three miles
from my door.
My sister and her family have lived in Hagley since the mid-eighties and her children went through Haybridge High. It is three miles from the studio to her front door, and a fair amount of my own time is spent in the village rather than driving through it. I know what the high street is like on a Friday evening and which places are worth the walk.
That is not a sales line, it is the reason the pages we write for businesses here do not read like they were produced in a content farm. A page that mentions the chip shop doing them properly in beef dripping, or Grapes and Plates on the high street, or a Saturday fry-up at the deli, or a wander round Webb's, is recognisably written by someone who goes. Google has spent a decade getting better at telling the difference, and so have your customers.

Written by someone who goes
Local pages with the roads, schools and places a Hagley customer actually recognises. Not a town name dropped into a template.

First conversation at your place
Three miles means we come to you, look at the business properly and photograph the real thing rather than buying stock images.

One person, start to finish
You deal with whoever is doing the work. No account managers, no outsourcing, and a short monthly note in plain English.

An honest read of your market
If the village is too small to justify what you are thinking of spending, we will say so before you spend it.
What we can honestly
claim here.
Connection to the village, yes. A published Hagley case study, not yet, and it would be easy to blur that so let us not. We help a personal trainer based in Hagley with her social media and some light website improvements, which is informal work rather than a documented engagement, and our paying clients are concentrated in Stourbridge and the Black Country.
The nearest documented result is Your Local Mechanic, a mobile mechanic working across this area from Dudley: 73 Google visits a month to 366 within a year, calls from the Google listing up 137%, rating up from 3.6 to 4.4, and Google Ads switched off entirely. The method that did it is exactly the one described above, a genuine page per area, an aligned Business Profile and a steady review routine. If you would rather see a Hagley business in that list before you commit, that is a reasonable thing to want, and we would rather say it now than dress proximity up as proof.
Local
questions.
Is it worth doing SEO for a village the size of Hagley?
For the right business, yes, precisely because it is small. Volumes are low but so is competition, and the customer value in this patch is high. It is rarely worth a large monthly retainer on its own; it is very often worth getting the Business Profile, one genuine page and a review habit right, which is a small piece of work.
Why do I rank in Stourbridge but not in Hagley?
Two usual reasons. Distance: Google builds local results around the searcher, and a few miles changes the map pack completely. And sources: Hagley is in Worcestershire, so the county directories and listings that build local prominence there are different from the West Midlands ones a Stourbridge business tends to appear in.
Do I need a separate page for Hagley, Pedmore and Kinver?
Only if you genuinely serve them and can write something real about each. Three substantial pages will outperform ten near-identical ones, and near-identical ones can do harm. If you only truly work in one, have one good page and say so.
Do you have clients in Hagley?
Not a documented one yet. We help a personal trainer in the village with her social media and some light website work, but that is informal rather than a full engagement, and our paying clients are concentrated in Stourbridge and the Black Country. The connection to Hagley is personal: family have lived in the village since the mid-eighties and it is three miles from the studio. We would rather tell you that than dress proximity up as proof.
How much would this cost for a village business?
A Business Profile overhaul starts at £450 and a technical audit with the fixes carried out starts at £1,200. Many businesses in this patch need those two things and little else at first. Ongoing local SEO is £500 to £1,500 a month, and we will tell you honestly if your market is too small to justify it.
Does being in Worcestershire rather than the West Midlands really change anything?
For directories, council and chamber listings, and regional coverage, yes, and those feed local prominence. It does not change Google's core ranking factors, which remain relevance, distance and prominence. It changes which sources are available to you to build the third one.
